On March 29, 2025, the Danubiana Art Point was opened in Starý Smokovec in the High Tatras. It is located in the very heart of the unique Hrebienok Resort Hotel complex, under the majestic Slavkovský štít peak.
Our goal is to provide visitors to our high mountains with the opportunity to get to know not only the Danubiana Museum of Modern Art, but also to feel the atmosphere that awaits them when visiting this romantic museum located in the middle of the Danube River.
The creation of the Art Point connected two of the most important symbols of Slovakia - the Danube River and the High Tatras. And today, they are connected by the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, which in the 25 years of its existence has hosted more than 300 exhibitions featuring 1,000 artists from more than 50 countries around the world. Just recently, we passed the one-million mark in domestic and foreign attendance, which confirms our museum’s importance and justification on our art scene.
The promotion of the Danubiana among tourists in the High Tatras (especially those from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and other countries) should attract more visitors to the museum and raise its profile among the cultural public.
In addition to obtaining brochures and materials about current and upcoming exhibitions at the Danubiana, visitors to the Art Point will have the opportunity to purchase souvenirs, books, posters, and other memorabilia that were specifically created for this space by leading Slovak and foreign artists, graphic designers, authors, and other partners.
